lamaksstalk asked:

I Have WD Mobile Harddisk. (usb out and no power supply). And my Car Audio System has an AUX input and i also have an FM modulator if it helps.

Is there a way i can use this harddisk as the source of all my mp3 collection.

I tried connecting with the FM modulator but nothing seems to happen.

Is there a USB to AUX cable available? or is there any other way.

thanks

I’m looking for a car audio system that records what is on the radio. At the touch of a button, or maybe pre timed so you can set it up to record later. Is there such a system??? Thanks.

deft.lefthand asked:

I’m planning on replacing my car’s sound system, new stereo, speakers, etc., so I’m trying to educate myself about these things. If I have everything replaced, will my factory installed steering wheel controls still work? I’ve gotten used to them by now.
Also, I don’t want to go crazy with my budget, but I want quality sound. Do you think I should get subs or just stick with some quality speakers? Car has: two tweeters, two 4×6 and two 6×9. 2002 pontiac grand am coupe with monsoon system factory installed. Thanks!

How can you check to see if the car audio wiring is good and do you need 2 wire harnesses to install a radio?

I’m not sure if the radio wires in my car are good or not. Is there a way to check, and possibly replace, this yourself? Also, when installing a new radio, do you need 2 different wire harness sets? I have all of the wires in my car, plus I have the car specific wire harness. Do I need a radio specific harness as well?
There’s also more than one wire harness set in the car but only one fits the radio?

Car audio diagnostics CD to test for failing speakers?

z0plax asked:

I’ve noticed lately that at certain frequencies and volumes my car audio seems to sound tinny or somewhat scratchy.

I have an 8″ subwoofer in a ported enclosure in the trunk, with 6×9 2-way speakers on the rear deck, and 5″ speakers in the doors. I think one of the 6×9s may be on its way out because the tinny sound seems to be coming from the rear but I can’t quite tell from which speakers.

Is there some kind of diagnostics CD out there that might be able to play a range of frequencies that would help me pinpoint a broken or failing speaker?

Including CD/MP3 player, front speakers, amps, subwoofer’s and crossover possibly. Quality over loadness factor would be nice, but loud is good too.
