What is the use of Bluetooth in car audio receivers?

I am in market to buy a good head unit for my car. I am bewildered by so many options out in the market. Some with USB, Some with Blue tooth. I am not convinced of the uses of bluetooth in audio receiver that too in car. Should i consider buying one with BT? Please help.
